A full-time Sign Language Interpreter is needed for the 2025/2026 school year to support a 20-year-old student receiving Transition Services. This contract position offers 37 hours per week and is located in Tacoma, WA.

Key responsibilities include providing high-quality sign language interpretation to facilitate effective communication between the student, educators, and staff in a school setting. The interpreter will work closely with the student to support their educational and transitional goals throughout the contract period, which starts as soon as possible and continues through the end of the school year. There is potential for summer work if needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum EIPA of 4.0 or higher required
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and experience interpreting in educational environments
  • Familiarity with Transition Services and working with young adults
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students and school personnel
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism
