Key Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language and familiarity with a range of communication modes
• Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter within school settings highly valued
• Current certification as a sign language interpreter (such as EIPA, RID NIC, or state equivalent)
• Ability to adapt to various classroom environments and student needs
• Professionalism, reliability, and strong interpersonal skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language for students in classrooms and during school events
• Accurately convey classroom instruction, discussions, and peer interactions
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to optimize learning experiences
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics and district policies
• Provide support in academic and extracurricular activities as assigned
