Ideal candidates bring:

• A minimum of a 4.0 EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score or RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf) certification
• Experience interpreting in educational settings, preferably K-12
• A thorough understanding of Deaf culture and American Sign Language
• Ability to adapt to various learning environments and individual needs
• Professionalism, strong communication, and a collaborative approach

Your responsibilities include:

• Delivering direct, 1:1 American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation for assigned students in classrooms and school activities
• Effectively conveying spoken and signed content to bridge communication between students, teachers, and peers
• Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to professional codes of conduct
• Collaborating with educational staff to accommodate students’ specific communication requirements
• Supporting the student’s participation in both academic and extracurricular activities
