What We’re Looking For:
- Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter (ASL proficiency required)
- Proficiency in creating and interpreting Braille materials
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, special education staff, and paraprofessionals
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines
- Compassion and patience when working with students with diverse learning needs
- Familiarity with educational environments and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) is a plus
- Relevant certification(s) for interpreting and/or Braille transcription preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide interpreting services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing within classroom and school settings
- Translate printed instructional materials into Braille for students with visual impairments
- Assist with assessments, homework, and classroom materials to ensure accessibility
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to foster an inclusive and supportive environment
- Maintain all records, confidentiality, and compliance with school policies and legal requirements
- Offer guidance and training to staff about accessible resources as needed
