Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students as a Sign Language Interpreter in a dynamic educational environment near Tavares, FL. As part of a dedicated team providing essential interpreter and translator services for the Deaf, you’ll work 1:1 with a student, making a direct impact on their academic journey and daily school experience.

This is a full-time, on-site contract running from August 10, 2026, through May 28, 2027, with a consistent weekly schedule of 37.5 hours (8-hour days with a 30-minute unpaid break). You’ll be in an engaging school environment where your expertise can truly shine. The specific school assignment will be determined soon, and budget approval is anticipated on June 8, opening the door for interviews next week.

Ideal Qualifications:

• Qualified to interpret in an educational setting
• EIPA level 3 or higher
  —OR—
• Valid RID: NIC, NAD, Educational Certification (K-12, or OTC)
• Ability to complete district onboarding: required forms, procedural agreements, and timesheet protocols
• Commitment to providing respectful, confidential, and professional interpreting services

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct sign language interpreting for individual students, facilitating communication between students, staff, and peers
• Adapt communication methods to meet student needs and classroom requirements
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
• Clearly document time and activities in accordance with district procedure
