Embark on a rewarding contract assignment as a Sign Language Interpreter supporting a vibrant elementary environment from August 3, 2026, through May 28, 2027. This full-time opportunity offers consistent daytime hours, Monday to Friday, totaling 35 hours per week (7:00am - 2:30pm). You’ll play a key role in ensuring effective communication access for students at Troutman Elementary, fostering an inclusive setting for learning and growth.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter.
  • Minimum EIPA score of 3.5, or possession of RID certification (either qualification accepted).
  • Professional experience in K-12 educational settings preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary educational teams.
  • Commitment to ethical standards, confidentiality, and ongoing professional development.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-to-one interpreting services for students who are Deaf or hard-of-hearing throughout the school day.
  • Arrive onsite before student arrival and remain prepared to support all classroom transitions and daily routines.
  • Interpret classroom instruction, assemblies, and school activities accurately and impartially.
  • Support educators by facilitating clear communication and contributing to an inclusive, accessible learning experience.
  • Collaborate with teachers and specialists to optimize student participation and developmental progress.
  • Maintain documentation and adhere to all school, district, and legal protocols.

  • This position is fully onsite; remote or virtual interpreting is not offered.
