Sign Language Interpreter Opening – 26/27 School Year

Details:

• Remote or Onsite Position

• Full-Time or Part-Time based on district needs

• K-12 Caseload

• Provide interpreting services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing

• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers

• Interpret classroom instruction, meetings, school activities, and other educational settings

• Support students during academic and extracurricular activities

• Collaborate with teachers, staff, parents, and administration

• Maintain confidentiality and accurate documentation

• Support an inclusive and accessible learning environment

• Documentation and more

Education and Certification

• Appropriate state Sign Language Interpreter certification/licensure

• Bachelor's Degree in Interpreting, Deaf Studies, or a related field preferred

• Experience working in a school setting preferred

• Experience interpreting American Sign Language (ASL) preferred

• New graduates are encouraged to apply

• EIPA certification or other recognized interpreter credential preferred, depending on district requirements

• Virtual interpreting experience preferred
