A full-time Sign Language Interpreter role is available to provide telehealth and in-school interpretation services for a kindergarten student with limited ASL fluency. This contract position is based in Cusseta, GA, with a start date ASAP through May 21. Close collaboration with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) team is essential to effectively support the student's communication needs and educational development.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver qualified sign language interpretation in both telehealth settings and in-school environments
- Facilitate clear communication for a young student not fully fluent in ASL
- Work closely with DHH educators and specialists to adapt communication strategies
- Ensure interpretations support the student’s academic and social engagement
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, particularly in educational settings
- Familiarity with telehealth interpretation services
- Ability to work effectively with early childhood students who have developing language skills
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with DHH professionals
