A full-time virtual Sign Language Interpreter is required to provide interpreting services for two 6th grade middle school students. This role involves telehealth delivery within a school setting, supporting students in accessing their educational curriculum effectively through American Sign Language (ASL).
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver clear and accurate sign language interpretation via telehealth for middle school students
- Collaborate with teachers, students, and staff to facilitate effective communication and learning
- Maintain compliance with all educational and professional standards related to interpreting
- Support academic and social interactions to enhance student participation and understanding
Qualifications:
- Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) certification in Sign Language Interpreting is mandatory
- Demonstrated experience working with middle school-aged students
- Proficiency in American Sign Language, with the ability to interpret educational content accurately
- Experience with telehealth platforms and virtual communication tools
- Strong communication skills and cultural sensitivity to support diverse learners
Location:
- Remote/Virtual assignment serving students in Decatur, GA within the Fulton County school system
Schedule:
- Full-time hours, Monday through Friday, 8:45 AM to 4:15 PM
