A contract opportunity is available for a Sign Language Interpreter specializing in telehealth support within educational settings. This role offers remote work with the potential to backfill an existing position, providing vital communication assistance for students and staff. The assignment begins as soon as possible and extends through the end of the school year.
Location: Remote (serving Gardner, KS area)
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday: 8:45 AM to 9:30 AM
- Tuesday and Thursday: 9:30 AM to 10:20 AM
- Monday through Friday: 10:25 AM to 11:10 AM
- Monday through Friday: 12:25 PM to 1:10 PM
Total hours approximately 12.92 per week.
Qualifications:
- Must hold an Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 or higher
- Registration or commitment to register with the Kansas Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (KCDHH)
- Successful completion of a technology screening
Responsibilities:
- Provide clear and accurate sign language interpretation services during scheduled telehealth sessions in compliance with educational standards
- Facilitate effective communication between students, educators, and healthcare providers through remote platforms
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while supporting the diverse needs of students
- Collaborate with educational staff and support teams to ensure appropriate accommodations are delivered
