This opportunity is for a Sign Language Interpreter specializing in telehealth services to support a school setting remotely. The position involves providing interpretation to facilitate communication for students and staff requiring American Sign Language (ASL) support.
Location: Remote (services provided virtually for a school based in Louisburg, KS)
Contract Duration: ASAP through end of school year (EOSY)
Weekly Hours: Approximately 12.92 hours per week
Scheduled Interpretation Times:
- Monday through Friday: 8:45 AM – 9:30 AM
- Tuesdays and Thursdays: 9:30 AM – 10:20 AM
- Monday through Friday: 10:25 AM – 11:10 AM
- Monday through Friday: 12:25 PM – 1:10 PM
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Must possess an Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 or higher
- Required to register or be registered with the Kansas Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (KCDHH)
- Successful completion of a technology proficiency screening
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering accurate and culturally sensitive sign language interpretation during scheduled telehealth sessions
- Collaborating with educational staff to enhance communication and learning environments for deaf and hard-of-hearing students
- Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times
