VocoVision is currently seeking a qualified American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter to provide virtual interpreting services for students in a Georgia school district. This fully remote 1099 contract opportunity allows professionals to work from home while supporting student communication access and educational success.

Position Details

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time virtual ASL interpretation for students in classroom and school-related settings

• Facilitate communication between deaf/hard-of-hearing students, teachers, staff, and peers

• Support student participation and accessibility during instruction and school activities

• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical interpreting standards

• Collaborate with school staff and special education teams as needed

Qualifications

• Must hold active certification through the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC)

• EIPA score of 3.5 or higher preferred (or state-required equivalent)

• RID certification preferred

• Previous school-based interpreting experience preferred

• Strong knowledge of ASL and Deaf culture

• Comfortable using virtual platforms and technology

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Reliable high-speed internet connection

• Personal computer with webcam and microphone

• Ability to pass required background checks

• Compliance with Georgia state and district requirements
