Remote Sign Language Interpreter – Alabama

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Sign Language Interpreter to provide virtual interpreting services to K–12 students in Alabama schools. This is a remote opportunity for an experienced interpreter who is passionate about supporting student communication access and collaborating with educational teams to help students succeed academically and socially.

Responsibilities

• Provide virtual sign language interpreting services for students in educational settings
• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers
• Support student participation in classroom instruction and school-related activities
• Collaborate with special education teams and school staff
• Maintain accurate documentation and professionalism in all interactions
• Follow confidentiality and ethical interpreting standards
• Maintain compliance with state and district guidelines

Qualifications

• Active Alabama licensure/certification for Sign Language Interpreting, if required
• EIPA score or RID certification required
• Previous school-based interpreting experience preferred
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Comfortable with virtual platforms and technology
• Strong communication and organizational skills
