Soliant is seeking a qualified Virtual Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to provide interpretation services for a school district. This remote opportunity is ideal for an experienced educational interpreter who is passionate about supporting Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students and ensuring equitable access to classroom instruction.

Position Details

Full-time Virtual Sign Language Interpreter position
School-based assignment
Remote/virtual interpreting opportunity
EIPA score of 4.0 or higher required
Competitive compensation: $35–$40/hour
1099 Independent Contractor opportunity
K–12 student caseload based on district needs
2026–2027 school year contract with potential renewal

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality virtual interpreting services for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students
• Facilitate communication access between students, teachers, staff, and peers
• Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, announcements, and school activities
• Collaborate with educators and support teams to ensure student communication needs are met
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical interpreting standards
• Support an inclusive learning environment through effective communication access

Qualifications

• EIPA score of 4.0 or higher required
• Educational interpreting experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and interpreting practices
• Experience supporting students in a K–12 educational setting preferred
• Ability to provide clear and effective interpretation through a virtual platform
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
