A contract position is available for a remote Sign Language Interpreter specializing in telehealth services for a school setting. This role supports communication accessibility through virtual platforms, providing interpreting during scheduled instructional hours.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering sign language interpretation for educational sessions via telehealth.
- Ensuring accurate and effective communication between Deaf or Hard of Hearing students and educators.
- Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
- Coordinating with educational staff to meet daily schedule requirements.
Schedule details:
- Approximately 12.92 hours per week.
- Monday through Friday from 8:45 AM to 9:30 AM and 10:25 AM to 11:10 AM.
- Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 AM to 10:20 AM.
- Monday through Friday from 12:25 PM to 1:10 PM.
Qualifications:
- Earned an EIPA score of 3.5 or higher.
- Registration with the Kansas Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (KCDHH) or active pursuit of registration.
- Successful completion of the required Technology Screen.
- Experience in providing sign language interpretation, preferably within educational or telehealth environments.
Location:
- Remote work with services provided to a school based in Paola, Kansas.
