Remote Educational Sign Language Interpreter | Kansas

A remote opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter specializing in telehealth services to provide support within an educational setting. This contract position requires working with students and staff to facilitate effective communication through sign language interpretation.

Location: Remote (supporting a school in Stilwell, KS) Contract Duration: Immediate start through end of school year Weekly Hours: Approximately 12.92 hours per week, with the following schedule:

• 8:45 AM to 9:30 AM (Monday through Friday)
• 9:30 AM to 10:20 AM (Tuesdays and Thursdays)
• 10:25 AM to 11:10 AM (Monday through Friday)
• 12:25 PM to 1:10 PM (Monday through Friday)

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality sign language interpretation services during telehealth sessions and related educational activities
• Facilitate clear and accurate communication between students, educators, and healthcare providers
• Adhere to confidentiality and professional ethics in all interactions
• Maintain punctuality and reliability in the assigned schedule
• Collaborate remotely with school staff to ensure seamless communication support

Qualifications:

• Must possess an EIPA score of 3.5 or higher
• Registration with the Kansas Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (KCDHH) or commitment to register promptly
• Successful completion of a technical screening process
• Proven experience in sign language interpretation within educational or healthcare settings is preferred
