Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Certification or license in Sign Language Interpretation (as required by state guidelines)
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with ability to adapt communication for young learners
• Previous experience in educational or school-based settings preferred

• Patience, empathy, and a passion for fostering growth in students

Primary Responsibilities:

• Serve as a 1:1 interpreter for a kindergarten student, facilitating communication in academic and social settings
• Collaborate with the classroom teacher, who is fluent in sign, to enhance the student's language acquisition and participation
• Support the student in building foundational sign language skills
• Adjust interpreting techniques to meet changing needs and development
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and positive relationships with staff and families
