A position is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to provide essential communication support in educational settings within Topeka, KS. This role involves travel between schools to facilitate effective communication for deaf and hard-of-hearing students, ensuring equal access to the curriculum and enhancing their learning experience.

Key Responsibilities: • Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa during classroom instruction, meetings, and school events
• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and staff to support inclusive education
• Adapt interpreting techniques to meet the varying needs of students across multiple grade levels
• Maintain confidentiality and professional ethics in all interactions
• Collaborate with educational teams to support students’ academic and social success
• Travel regularly within the Topeka area to assigned schools

Qualifications and Experience: • Proficiency in ASL with demonstrated interpreting skills in educational environments
• Experience working with children and young adults who are deaf or hard of hearing

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
