A contract opportunity is available for Sign Language Interpreters (SLIs) to serve in educational settings in Tracy, CA and Stockton, CA. This role involves supporting students with hearing impairments in both special education and general education classrooms. The position is ideal for certified professionals dedicated to inclusive communication and educational access.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide sign language interpretation services onsite in classrooms.
  • Support students in mild to moderate special education environments (for full-time roles).
  • Assist students within general education settings (part-time roles).
  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure effective communication.
  • Maintain compliance with district policies and EIPA standards.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Nationally recognized EIPA score of 4.0 or higher.
  • Fluency in sign language with strong interpreting skills.
  • Prior experience working within K-12 educational settings preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish ability considered a significant advantage due to a predominantly Spanish-speaking community.
  • Commitment to onsite work; remote options are not available.
  • Availability for full-time (4-5) or part-time (2) positions.

Location:

  • Positions are based in Tracy, CA and Stockton, CA, with onsite responsibilities.

Schedule and Engagement:

  • Contract-based assignments.
  • Mix of full-time and part-time roles to accommodate different availability.
