Educational Interpreter - Tracy, CA

Support students as a Sign Language Interpreter in an engaging school setting located near Tracy, CA. This contract opportunity is for the 2026/2027 school year, providing a chance to make a positive impact while gaining valuable experience. There are five openings, each offering 30 hours per week with a schedule of 7:40am–2:00pm.

Interpreters will primarily provide 1:1 services for students in general education classrooms. In addition, you’ll collaborate with colleagues and offer support throughout the campus as needed. This is a rewarding position for professionals passionate about accessible education and inclusiveness.

Key Qualifications:

• Skilled in American Sign Language and educational interpreting
• Holds a minimum EIPA score of 4.0 (required for SLIs)
• Open to ASL paraprofessionals who are actively pursuing interpreter certification
• Experience supporting students in a classroom environment is strongly preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proactive, adaptable, and able to work effectively within a team

Primary Responsibilities:

• Facilitate effective communication between students and staff using sign language interpretation
• Support assigned student(s) in general education settings
• Adapt interpreting approaches to best match individual student needs
• Assist with floating coverage for various students and classrooms as needed
• Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere on campus
