Key Qualifications:

• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) with experience in classroom or educational support settings
• Holds a valid VQAS Level 2 or higher, unless EIPA score is 3.5 or above
• Demonstrated commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration
• Ability to adapt to various educational needs and support both individual students and classroom-wide activities

Primary Responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken communication between students, staff, and teachers to facilitate full participation in learning
• Provide interpretation for classroom instruction, assemblies, meetings, and extracurricular events as required
• Collaborate with school personnel to ensure accessibility of curriculum and materials
• Support the development of students’ ASL and communication skills
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity throughout all assignments
