Key Qualifications:
- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) with experience in classroom or educational support settings
- Holds a valid VQAS Level 2 or higher, unless EIPA score is 3.5 or above
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration
- Ability to adapt to various educational needs and support both individual students and classroom-wide activities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken communication between students, staff, and teachers to facilitate full participation in learning
- Provide interpretation for classroom instruction, assemblies, meetings, and extracurricular events as required
- Collaborate with school personnel to ensure accessibility of curriculum and materials
- Support the development of students’ ASL and communication skills
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity throughout all assignments
