Key Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language and interpreting in educational settings
  • Experience supporting students in elementary school is preferred
  • Willingness to work onsite for set hours (7:45am–3:15pm) or afternoons (11:00am–3:15pm)
  • Valid state license for sign language interpretation (provisional licenses accepted if EIPA is below 4.0)
  • Strong communication skills, flexibility, and a collaborative approach

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Interpret classroom lessons, activities, and school events for students requiring sign language support
  • Facilitate clear communication between students, teachers, and peers
  • Adapt interpreting style to meet varied learning needs and foster engagement
  • Support students' social, emotional, and academic growth within an inclusive setting
  • Work closely with school teams to ensure the best learning experience for all students
