This full-time position offers the chance to make a significant difference in the life of a young student who is just beginning their sign language journey and relies heavily on visual supports for learning and communication.

You’ll work closely with an elementary student who is completely deaf, providing one-on-one support in a school setting each day from approximately 7:30 am to 2:30 pm. Your guidance will be crucial as this child navigates their early education, mastering both new academic concepts and sign language essentials.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter, along with the appropriate state licensure.
  • Experience working within elementary or early childhood educational settings.
  • Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
  • Ability to provide 1:1 interpretation and adapt to the visual and communicative needs of a student who is new to signing.
  • Patience, warmth, and a genuine desire to positively impact a child’s learning and daily school life.
  • Flexibility and commitment to being onsite throughout each school day.
