Desired Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in K–12 educational settings
  • Familiarity with educational terminology and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Hold relevant national or state interpreter certification

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide interpreting services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in classrooms and across campus activities
  • Facilitate effective communication between students, educators, and staff
  • Support student inclusion in instructional and extracurricular environments
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
  • Participate in IEP meetings and other relevant school functions as needed
