Qualifications:

  • Professional certification or licensure in sign language interpreting, as required by state guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide interpreting services for students throughout the school day in various academic and extracurricular settings.
  • Support clear communication between students, peers, and staff using appropriate interpreting techniques.
  • Interpret classroom lessons, group discussions, assemblies, and meetings with sensitivity to students’ language needs.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all educational and personal information.
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive classroom environment and help foster student independence.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to facilitate accommodations and student success.
