This full-time, onsite contract position spans from August 24, 2026, to June 11, 2027, creating an impactful experience in educational settings near White City, OR. Four skilled professionals are needed to ensure accessibility and inclusivity for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Assignments will be located in Rosenburg and Douglas, Oregon, working closely with educational teams to facilitate clear communication and student engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Oregon certification or licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpreting within K-12 educational environments.
  • Proven track record of fostering positive interactions with students, staff, and families.
  • Strong ethical standards and adherence to professional practices for interpreters.
  • Ability to adapt communication style for a diverse caseload spanning all grade levels.
  • Commitment to onsite work throughout the school year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret classroom instruction, student interactions, assemblies, and extracurricular activities to promote an inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate regularly with classroom teachers, special education staff, and support personnel to facilitate individualized education plans.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect for all students’ needs and privacy.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to ongoing efforts supporting accessible education.
