Educational Sign Language Interpreter - White City, OR

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by supporting communication access and inclusion in the classroom environment. We are seeking four skilled Sign Language Interpreters to provide on-site services to K-12 students during the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time role is based in Southern Oregon, serving school locations throughout the Rosenburg and Douglas regions. As an interpreter, you will be a critical link, facilitating understanding and participation for students who are Deaf or hard of hearing throughout their educational experience.

Required Qualifications:

• Holds current Oregon Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) Certification/Licensure
• Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English
• Prior school-based interpreting experience preferred, especially with a range of grade levels (K-12)
• Ability to interpret in a variety of academic, extracurricular, and community settings
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with educators, students, and families
• Committed to professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical standards

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver accurate, ethical interpreting services for students in mainstream classroom and school activities
• Support effective communication between students, teachers, and peers
• Contribute to the educational team’s goals for student achievement and inclusion
• Foster a positive, accessible learning environment through cultural and linguistic mediation as needed
• Document services and maintain required records according to school policy
• Attend IEP meetings, team collaborations, and training as requested
