Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students' success for the 2026-2027 school year as a skilled American Sign Language Interpreter in a dynamic educational setting near Williamsburg, VA. Four ASL Interpreters are needed to provide valuable services in a K-12 environment, working closely with students ranging from Kindergarten up to 12th grade. Enjoy consistent full-time hours—35 per week—helping students access learning and reach their academic milestones.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hold VQAS Level 3 or EIPA 3.0+ certification.
  • Previous experience working in schools or educational settings.
  • Strong proficiency in American Sign Language and interpretation in academic contexts.
  • Ability to interpret effectively for both elementary and high school-aged students.
  • Reliable, professional, and passionate about facilitating accessible education.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver sign language interpretation for assigned students (including Kindergarten, 2nd grade, and 10th & 12th grade high schoolers) during classroom instruction, school activities, and ancillary services.
  • Adapt communication style to meet each student’s individual needs and academic goals.
  • Foster a supportive, inclusive, and engaging environment for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
  • Collaborate with educators and other school staff to facilitate optimal student participation.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards for interpreters in educational settings.
