This is a school-based position, working with dedicated education teams and students who communicate via American Sign Language. Not only will you build lasting connections, but you’ll also hone your interpreting and teaching abilities in meaningful ways.

Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) and/or state licensure (as required)
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL), with relevant interpreting or teaching experience
  • Experience working in schools, particularly with K-12 students, is strongly preferred
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new environments and build rapport with students and staff

Responsibilities:

  • Provide interpreting services for d/Deaf and hard-of-hearing students in classroom and school activities
  • Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and support staff
  • Support student access to curriculum and participation in school life
  • Collaborate with educators to enhance inclusion and engagement
