Sign Language Interpreter in Wilton, CA

This full-time, in-person contract opportunity involves working alongside educators and students to ensure effective and accessible communication in the classroom. There are four immediate openings for passionate interpreters ready to contribute their expertise.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid EIPA score of at least 4.0 is required
• Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language
• Previous experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in a school environment preferred
• Ability to facilitate clear, accurate interpretation between deaf/hard-of-hearing students and staff
• Strong sense of professionalism, confidentiality, and reliability
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide in-person sign language interpretation for students in academic, extracurricular, and social settings
• Adapt signing styles to meet students’ individual needs and educational goals
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure equitable access to curriculum and school activities
• Maintain compliance with educational guidelines and confidentiality standards
• Participate in meetings and contribute to planning for effective communication strategies
• Support a positive, inclusive school environment
