Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
  • Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in school settings.
  • Ability to relate well to middle school-aged children.
  • National or state interpreter certification is strongly preferred.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism in educational environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-person, full-time (7:40 am–3:30 pm) ASL interpreting support for one middle school student.
  • Facilitate effective communication between student, staff, and peers.
  • Adapt interpreting style to meet individual student needs and classroom requirements.
  • Collaborate with educational teams to ensure full participation and access.
