Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (RID, EIPA, or equivalent preferred)
• Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Experience working in schools or with children/adolescents is highly valued
• Strong understanding of educational environments and the needs of D/deaf and hard of hearing students
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Ability to collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families
• Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately interpret classroom instruction, assignments, and discussions between students and teachers
• Facilitate clear communication for school events, meetings, and extracurricular activities
• Support individual students’ language and communication needs as directed by educational teams
• Adapt interpreting style based on the age and skills of the student(s)
• Maintain accurate and timely records of services provided
• Participate in professional development and district meetings as needed
