Step into a dynamic school-based environment supporting students with speech and language needs near Alexandria, VA. As a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) contractor, you will collaborate with fellow educators and families to make a lasting impact on student success throughout the academic year.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active state licensure or eligibility for SLP licensure
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) considered
- Previous experience in a K-12 setting preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff
Core Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders for students
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Document progress, maintain accurate records, and prepare reports as required
- Deliver direct and consultative therapy services in accordance with IEP goals
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide recommendations based on evaluation results
- Educate and guide teachers, staff, and family members on strategies that support student development
- Adapt techniques and interventions to support diverse student learning styles and abilities
