What’s Needed For Success:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Valid and current state licensure (or eligibility) as an SLP
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA preferred, though strong CFs considered
- Prior experience working with children or adolescents, especially in school settings
- Understanding of IEP process and relevant documentation
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders in students
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in accordance with IEP goals
- Provide direct therapy sessions, both individual and group, to address students’ needs
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and families to support student progress
- Monitor, document, and report student progress toward outlined goals
- Consult regularly with school teams to ensure coordinated care
- Stay current with best practices and continuing education in speech-language pathology
