School-Based Speech Language Pathologist - Alexandria, Virginia

Step into a rewarding contract role near Alexandria, VA, supporting local students as a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across schools in the Dale City, Dumfries, and Woodbridge areas. You’ll work full-time during the 2026-2027 academic year, collaborating onsite with teams and helping students develop communication and language skills essential for academic and personal growth.

Key Qualifications:

• Holds a valid Virginia SLP license
• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred, but Clinical Fellows (CFYs) are welcome
• Previous experience working in school settings is highly desirable
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with educators, staff, and families
• Willingness to provide onsite services (remote positions are not available at this time)

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver speech and language therapy to students as outlined in IEPs
• Conduct assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and maintain detailed documentation
• Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and contribute expertise to the development of student-centered plans
• Communicate progress to families and provide resources or strategies to support speech and language development at home
• Foster a supportive and positive learning environment for diverse student populations

This full-time role offers a stable schedule of 35 hours per week (7 hours per day) from August 17, 2026, through June 12, 2027. You will have the unique opportunity to witness students’ progress firsthand and be part of a nurturing school community in a vital Virginia district.
