Take on a meaningful role supporting student success as a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist providing coverage for an FMLA leave near Arlington Heights, IL. This contract position is set in a vibrant educational environment, working closely with students from 6th through 9th grades, as well as those in transition programs across both middle and high school levels.

You'll collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to complete both initial and re-evaluations for students, helping to shape their communication skills and overall educational outcomes. The school prefers candidates with a background in academic settings and a strong understanding of pediatric speech therapy.

Key Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Valid SLP-CCC credentials
  • Active state licensure to practice as an SLP
  • Prior experience in school-based SLP roles preferred
  • Strong understanding of pediatric and adolescent communication needs
  • Ability to effectively manage a diverse caseload
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct speech and language therapy to students from grades 6-9 and transition programs
  • Conduct initial evaluations and re-evaluations in compliance with school and state policies
  • Develop individualized treatment plans in coordination with educational teams
  • Assist with IEP meetings and documentation
  • Serve as a resource and advocate for students and families regarding speech and language development
  • Maintain accurate records and reports in a timely manner

Position Details:

  • Full-time (35 hours per week)
  • Monday through Friday, 7:45 am – 3:15 pm
  • Contract duration: August 17, 2026 – September 15 (with potential for an additional week for a smooth transition)
