School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Auburn, Illinois

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist. This full-time role begins in March and extends through the end of the school year, with the current last day scheduled for May 21st (pending final calendar adjustments). You’ll provide essential services during a pivotal time, covering a leave period and making a meaningful impact on students’ communication needs.

Serve a caseload of 28 students from Kindergarten through High School, offering primarily individual sessions to ensure personalized care. You’ll work with a diverse group of learners, including 17 students who utilize Speech Generating Devices (SGDs), making your in-person expertise crucial for their success. The schedule aligns with the school’s calendar, including Spring Break from April 12th-16th and a day off for Good Friday on March 25th.

Desired Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
• Current SLP license and eligibility to work in school settings
• Experience supporting school-aged students, preferably across multiple grade levels
• Strong proficiency in implementing and supporting SGD usage
• Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation abilities
• Commitment to in-person service delivery, adapting to the unique needs of each student

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver evidence-based assessment and therapy for speech and language disorders
• Develop and update Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with school teams
• Support students’ use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), especially SGDs
• Communicate progress and strategies to teachers, staff, and families
• Maintain accurate records and adhere to school documentation protocols
