A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available for the 2025–2026 school year (September to June) in a K-12 school setting located in Auburn, NY. This contract position primarily serves elementary students with some high school students included. The role offers a chance to support speech and language development within an inclusive educational environment.
Role Overview:
In this position, you will manage a caseload of approximately 28 students, conducting assessments, delivering therapy, and collaborating closely with educators and families to foster student growth and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments and develop individualized therapy plans
- Provide direct therapy services tailored to each student's unique needs
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement accommodations and modifications
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions accordingly
- Participate actively in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to contribute to goal setting
- Offer guidance and support to parents and caregivers
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid state SLP license or eligibility to obtain one
- Experience working with school-aged children preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Familiarity with IEP processes and relevant educational laws
