Position #1: Provide direct services in two Early Childhood Special Education classrooms. This caseload begins with approximately 20 students and will gradually increase to around 35. You’ll have the opportunity to work with young learners facing significant communication challenges, including many who utilize augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices.
Position #2: Take on a pivotal role by conducting Early On evaluations and providing interventions to preschool-aged children. The caseload will include about 20 students, with the added responsibility of managing Early On assessments and follow-up care.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology
- Valid SLP license in Michigan (or eligibility to obtain)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
- Experience or strong interest in working within school settings, particularly with pediatrics and early childhood populations
- Familiarity with AAC devices preferred (especially for Position #1)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group therapy based on IEPs or evaluations
- Complete thorough and timely paperwork, including evaluation reports and progress notes
- Collaborate with educators, families, and multi-disciplinary teams for best outcomes
- Adapt services to students with a range of needs, focusing on inclusivity and empowerment
