This contract opportunity is ideal for professionals passionate about serving students with complex needs, including those with level 3 autism, severe cognitive disabilities, and significant behavioral challenges. The school operates year-round, serving students ages 5-21 in small, self-contained classrooms with an 8:1:3 staff-to-student ratio. Therapy is provided in a dedicated space, allowing you to deliver personalized interventions and creative support.
Core Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current state licensure and ASHA CCCs (or eligibility)
- Experience working with students who are non-verbal and/or utilize alternative or augmentative communication (AAC) devices
- Strong background in supporting K-12 students with severe disabilities and behavioral challenges
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, educators, and families
- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, develop, and implement individualized speech-language interventions for students ages 5-21
- Collaborate with classroom teams and related service providers to promote communication and participation
- Support students utilizing AAC and other alternative communication systems
- Provide direct therapy in a dedicated, well-equipped space
- Track progress, maintain records, and participate in IEP meetings and report writing
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and structured educational environment
