Step into a rewarding role providing speech-language pathology services in a supportive, year-round educational setting for students ages 5 to 21. This position will allow you to make a meaningful difference in a specialized private school serving children and young adults with Level 3 autism, significant cognitive disabilities, and complex behavioral needs. The school features a close-knit population of 78 students in 10 self-contained classrooms, each maintaining an 8:1:3 student-to-staff ratio. A dedicated therapy space is provided, ensuring you have the resources and environment to deliver high-quality interventions.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current credentials/licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Experience or strong interest in supporting K–12 and transition-age students (ages 5–21)
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) methods
  • Demonstrated success or comfort in working with non-verbal students and those exhibiting challenging behavior
  • Previous work in special education, self-contained classrooms, or similar environments is highly valued

Role Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments, develop IEP goals, and implement individualized speech and language interventions
  • Collaborate with classroom staff, special education teams, and families to promote communication success
  • Use AAC technology and other strategies to empower non-verbal students’ participation
  • Document progress, maintain compliance, and adjust programming as students’ needs evolve
  • Provide engaging, clinically sound therapy within a dedicated on-site space

This is a contract opportunity with hours from 7:45 am to 3:15 pm, Monday through Friday, beginning ASAP and continuing through the end of the school year. The year-round schedule allows for consistent impact and strong therapeutic rapport with a unique and inspiring student population.
