K-5 Grades 6 - 8 School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Ballston Spa, New York

Ready to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with diverse and unique needs? This contract role offers the opportunity to provide dedicated speech-language pathology support in a specialized, nurturing educational setting serving students from kindergarten through high school.

Work within a close-knit community of educators and specialists, supporting approximately 78 students across 10 self-contained classrooms (8:1:3 staff-to-student ratio). Each classroom serves students with level 3 autism, severe cognitive disabilities, and significant behavioral needs, most of whom use alternative and augmentative communication and are non-verbal. You’ll have access to a dedicated therapy space and the structure of a year-round school, ensuring your work has sustained, positive impact.

Key Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and valid state licensure
• Prior experience with students in grades K–12, especially those with profound autism and communication needs
• Familiarity or proficiency with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices and strategies
• Ability to confidently adapt approaches for non-verbal communicators and severe behaviors
• Compassion, creativity, and strong collaborative skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide speech, language, and AAC support to ages 5–21 in a self-contained classroom environment
• Assess, develop, and implement individualized communication goals in IEPs
• Collaborate closely with teachers, aides, and related service providers
• Conduct group and one-on-one therapy in a dedicated space
• Support data collection and progress reporting

Enjoy a consistent weekday schedule from 7:45 am to 3:15 pm, Monday to Friday, with start dates as soon as possible and placement running through the end of the school year in a contract arrangement.
