This contract opportunity focuses on working with K-5 students in a center-based program designed for children with intellectual disabilities, some of whom use assistive communication devices. Qualifications & Desired Experience
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current state licensure or eligibility as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred
- Comfort and familiarity working with students with intellectual disabilities
- Experience with AAC (augmentative/alternative communication) devices desirable
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for K-5 students
- Participate actively in IEP meetings, contributing insights and documentation
- Deliver both direct and indirect speech-language services as specified by each IEP
- Adapt communication approaches to support students using a variety of devices
- Maintain accurate records and progress reports
- Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to foster student growth
- Serve as a resource and advocate for students’ communication needs
