A dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available within a K-12 educational setting in Bessemer, AL, serving students at Glen Iris Elementary. This contract position, spanning the school year from August 6, 2025, through May 23, 2026, focuses on delivering speech services to the special education population.
Responsibilities:
- Provide speech-language therapy to a caseload of 40-60 students in grades K-5.
- Design and implement individualized treatment plans aimed at improving communication skills.
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to integrate therapy goals within classroom activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with school and state regulations.
- Participate in meetings with parents, teachers, and other professionals regarding student progress.
Qualifications:
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Licensed and in good standing to practice as an SLP in the state of Alabama.
- Experience working with K-12 students, particularly within special education settings.
- Strong organizational and communication skills to manage caseload and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to fostering an encouraging and supportive learning environment.
