Step into a rewarding school-based role supporting students’ communication development in the Birmingham area. Contract runs from August 7 through June 10, with assignments determined by the needs at each site. Work collaboratively with a dynamic educational team to make a meaningful impact each day. Multiple positions are available.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders from a regionally accredited college/university (required)
- Valid Professional Educator Certification (required)
- ASHA Certification and ABSESPA Licensure (preferred)
- Familiarity with laws, rules, and regulations sensitive to the needs of students with disabilities
- Understanding of pediatric and adolescent development, including assessment tools for diagnosing physical and learning disabilities
- Proficiency in compiling, analyzing, and interpreting data as well as current policy
- Confident communication skills for both written and spoken interactions
- Expertise with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Key responsibilities:
- Provide speech-language therapy services to students as assigned
- Complete assessments, develop individualized education plans (IEPs), and maintain documentation in compliance with all regulations
- Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to maximize student outcomes
- Interpret and document data to support student progress
- Remain onsite at school locations (no virtual or Voco assignments)
