School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Bessemer, Alabama

Step into a rewarding school-based role supporting students’ communication development in the Birmingham area. Contract runs from August 7 through June 10, with assignments determined by the needs at each site. Work collaboratively with a dynamic educational team to make a meaningful impact each day. Multiple positions are available.

What you’ll need to succeed:

• Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders from a regionally accredited college/university (required)
• Valid Professional Educator Certification (required)
• ASHA Certification and ABSESPA Licensure (preferred)
• Familiarity with laws, rules, and regulations sensitive to the needs of students with disabilities
• Understanding of pediatric and adolescent development, including assessment tools for diagnosing physical and learning disabilities
• Proficiency in compiling, analyzing, and interpreting data as well as current policy
• Confident communication skills for both written and spoken interactions
• Expertise with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Key responsibilities:

• Provide speech-language therapy services to students as assigned
• Complete assessments, develop individualized education plans (IEPs), and maintain documentation in compliance with all regulations
• Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to maximize student outcomes
• Interpret and document data to support student progress
• Remain onsite at school locations (no virtual or Voco assignments)
