Key Qualifications:
- Active SLP Certification in Alabama
- SLP Educator Certificate required (must verify credentials and fingerprinting through the Alabama Teacher Certification website)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) highly preferred
- Previous school-based experience or strong interest in working with children and adolescents
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 60 students across multiple schools
- Flexibility to travel between assigned school sites
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group speech-language therapy services to a diverse caseload in preschool, elementary, middle, and high school settings
- Assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for students with communication disorders
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other specialists to develop and implement IEPs
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, progress reports, and compliance with school and state requirements
- Actively participate in school-based meetings and multidisciplinary teams to support student success
This contract role allows you to make a significant impact across several schools, including Burkett Preschool, Hueytown Primary, Lipscomb Elementary, Hueytown Middle, Pinson Valley High School, and UW/Bagley. You will benefit from a set schedule of 37.5 hours per week throughout the academic year.
