Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Bessemer, AL

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in the Birmingham, Alabama area as a dedicated speech-language pathologist, available to start as soon as possible through June 10. You will work onsite in schools and be assigned caseloads based on current needs and locations, making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and adolescents.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid Professional Educator Certification
• Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders from a regionally accredited institution
• Strong foundation in the laws, rules, and regulations governing services and education for children with disabilities
• Deep knowledge of pediatric and adolescent cognitive and physical development, as well as assessment tools used for identifying special needs
• Understanding of terminology related to physical and learning disabilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Preferred: ASHA Certification and ABSESPA Licensure

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive speech and language assessments, intervention, and consultation for students on caseload
• Interpret and apply regulations as they relate to services for children with disabilities within an educational environment
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, educators, and families to support each student’s individualized education plan
• Maintain accurate records and compile data to assess and monitor student progress
• Ensure services are delivered in compliance with state and federal guidelines and best practices

This is an onsite position (no virtual/teletherapy) with flexibility to meet the needs of assigned locations. You’ll play a vital role in supporting student success while expanding your expertise in a collaborative educational setting.
