Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Birmingham, AL

Starting ASAP through June 10, this contract role offers the opportunity to work on-site, collaborating closely with educators and families to enhance student communication and learning outcomes.

What We’re Looking For:

• Valid Professional Educator Certification
• Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders from a regionally accredited institution
• Comprehensive understanding of laws, rules, and regulations related to special education and services for children with disabilities
• In-depth knowledge of pediatric and adolescent development, both cognitive and physical
• Familiarity with diagnostic instruments for assessing students with disabilities
• Ability to accurately interpret policies, data, and regulations related to the field
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills
• On-site availability (remote/virtual not considered)
• Preferred: ASHA Certification and ABSESPA Licensure

What You’ll Do:

• Assess, diagnose, and treat students in accordance with their individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student progress
• Document student performance and maintain accurate records
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and decision-making processes
• Adapt services to a variety of caseloads and locations, based on district needs
