This engaging opportunity runs from September 8 to June 18 and is ideal for a skilled speech-language pathologist eager to make an impact two days per week. You will primarily work with preschool-aged students, though your caseload spans PK-8, providing a rewarding chance to see meaningful progress across ages.
In this role, experience with AAC devices and supporting students with ASD will be highly valued, as you collaborate with educators and families to develop tailored interventions and help children find their voice.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- State licensure for speech-language pathology (or eligibility)
- Demonstrated pediatric experience, preferably in school settings
- Strong background with AAC devices and Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for students with speech, language, and communication needs
- Deliver direct therapy, primarily to preschool students, with occasional support across other grade levels
- Integrate AAC devices within individualized communication plans
- Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and families to ensure comprehensive support for each child
- Document progress, participate in IEP meetings, and make recommendations for ongoing support
- Stay current on best practices for pediatric and school-based speech therapy
