In this position, you’ll primarily serve one student requiring services in Spanish, helping to support their communication needs and promote their academic success. Hours are part-time and will be determined in collaboration with the school committee as they gather further information to optimize student support. Flexibility and adaptability are key, as this is a newly identified need.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Current SLP license (or eligibility) in Florida
- Bilingual proficiency (Spanish/English) required
- Previous school-based experience preferred, but all relevant pediatric experience considered
- Sensitivity and cultural competence working with diverse student populations
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess speech and language needs for a student requiring Spanish-language services
- Collaborate with school staff and meet with the committee to determine scope, scheduling, and best approaches
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans
- Track and document progress, providing updates to educational teams and families
- Adjust intervention as necessary based on student response and updated information
