This opportunity, situated near Bridgeport, CT, is designed for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) who thrives on helping young learners achieve their fullest potential.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Valid SLP license in the state
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) awarded by ASHA
- Previous experience working in a school-based setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to design and implement individualized therapy plans
- Proficiency in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families
- Compassion, patience, and a student-centered approach
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy services to students as specified in their IEPs
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, generate reports, and participate in eligibility and review meetings
- Collaborate with instructional staff, special educators, and support personnel to integrate strategies into classroom activities
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation
- Deliver engaging therapy sessions tailored to a variety of communication needs including articulation, fluency, language, and social skills
- Consult with families, offering strategies to reinforce progress at home
- Keep current with best practices and continuing professional development
