Your expertise with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices will be highly valued, as you’ll be instrumental in empowering students to access crucial communication tools. This role welcomes both experienced SLPs holding their Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) and Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates passionate about building their school-based practice.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid state SLP license (or eligibility)
- ASHA Certification (CCC) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) status
- Previous school-based SLP experience preferred
- Familiarity with AAC devices is required
- Strong collaboration, organization, and communication skills
- Commitment to supporting students’ diverse communication needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of about 50 school-aged children with various speech and language needs
- Assess, diagnose, and provide targeted therapy to students, including those requiring AAC devices
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain detailed progress notes and compliance with educational guidelines
- Engage with families and educators to support consistent communication strategies
