Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences
  • Valid SLP license and eligibility or possession of ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
  • School-based experience, especially in serving elementary ages, highly valued
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, both with students and staff
  • Commitment to individualized student progress and collaborative participation within a multidisciplinary team

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct speech and language therapy to a caseload of 8-10 students, adapting interventions to individual educational plans
  • Assess speech, language, and communication skills; develop appropriate treatment goals and document progress
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to ensure student needs are effectively addressed in both classroom and therapy settings
  • Maintain detailed, confidential records in compliance with school and professional standards
  • Engage in regular team meetings and contribute expertise in multi-disciplinary discussions concerning student development

This contract position provides approximately 20 hours per week, with some flexibility to adjust hours as needed. Settings include on-site work with Acadia Academy in Lewiston, offering direct impact in a supportive academic environment.
